High school Robotics team from Shiprock, New Mexico heads to the nationals

Shiprock HS robotics team competing in nationals in February

SHIPROCK, N.M. (KRQE) – Shiprock High School’s robotics team is heading to nationals next month but they didn’t get there without some obstacles. The Tonkis robotics team traveled to Flagstaff, Arizona recently where they were almost disqualified putting their hopes of nationals in jeopardy. The team was able to band together emerging from the tournament as champions.

The team took home the Winning Alliance trophy and the Think Award. Now, the Tonkis team is set to compete in the National Robotic Tournament in Phoenix on February 16 and 17. Three teams will compete for the chance to qualify for the world tournament in Houston in April.
